ARUN & CHICHESTER YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE FAIR PLAY AWARDS
ANNOUNCED
WTYFC. teams featured prominently in this years fair play awards
presented by the ACYFL. Each week, teams are required to grade
their opponents players, supporters and officials. There
were nine age groups from U9 to U18 and Worthing Town were the
only club to win in more than one age group. Many
congratulations therefore to Emma Sleep's U10C team and Tony
Franklin and Kevin Golds U13B team for both winning their age
groups.
Congratulations should also go to Geoff Slater's U14C team for
finishing second in their group and to Pete Tilbey's U9B team for
finishing 3rd in theirs.
As a
club that actively promotes good behaviour and sportsmanship, we are
very proud of the achievements of each of these teams.
PRESENTATION NIGHT
Presentation Night 2008 took place on Friday 9th May at the
Assembly Rooms, Worthing. Every player in the club
received a loyalty award for participation during the season and
additional team and achievement awards were also given out.
Full details on winners can be found by following the
Presentation Night link on the left-hand side of this page.
The evening was also special because Keveena Mosen of the Sussex
County FA presented the FA Charter Standard Community Club Award
to the club.
"BIG KIDS" TOURNAMENT

On 26th April, the club held it's first ever "Big Kids"
tournament. This was an adult 6 a side event which is open to
youth team parents/coaches etc. A grand total of 9 teams entered the inaugural event which
was held at The Glyn Owen
Centre and was sponsored by NSURE.
This event forms part of
the club's strategy to increase participation in the game. The
vast majority of the players either play no football at all or only
attend the clubs Monday evening adult "pick up" sessions.
"Lady Luck" smiled on us with the weather and there was a great
family atmosphere with a good turn out of youth players who enjoyed
turning the table son their dads for the day.

Eventually, the event was won by Sam
Faro's team (pictured right) consisting of (from back left to
right), Lewis Chidwick, Nigel Lamb, Paul Cotton, Keith , Mark Slide,
(front) Jez Coates, Sam Faro
and Mark Ramshaw.
In total the event raised £350
towards the club development fund.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE U16 BOYS
Last Wednesday (16th April), the U16 boys were confirmed as
Division C Champions in the Arun & Chichester Youth Football
League following their emphatic 8-0 win against Wick Dynamos
Junior. Many congratulations to Gary Ridley and the boys
on their deserved success.
